A backfill compound acts as a filling in the pit which is dug to place the earthing electrode. The backfill compound’s purpose is to prevent the chemical earthing electrode from getting corroded and facilitate better current dissipation. It helps maintain the moisture levels in the soil around the system. Atharva Infrastructures has its own conductivity improvement material,

SOILTREAT

SOILTREAT is our highly conductive backfill compound, is ecologically safe and does not pollute the nutrients of the soil. Its main function is to absorb the impedance from the faulty current that occurs due to lightning. It is hydroscopic in nature and very fine in size and thus, no voids are formed in the compound. Unlike other similar compounds, it is non-corrosive in nature. Therefore, it considerably slows the process of oxidation and corrosion. Apart from these characteristics, it has a very high shelf life. Being eco-friendly in nature, it does not contain any harmful chemicals like other currently available backfill compounds.
